Collection: Raku Glazes

Spectrum Raku glazes are lead-free and require a Raku firing process to achieve the results show. Pieces are fired to 1750F (950C) in an electric or gas kiln. While still red hot, the glazed piece should be transferred into a reduction bin; commonly a small sealable metal container containing a combustible organic material. The reduction bin should then be closed and the piece allowed to cool for at least twenty minutes before removing and cleaning it.
